Open in magazine

Brice Eymard

CIVP tourism site: turn scenery visitors into wine buyers

Brice Eymard calls wine tourism a strategic goal. A new Provence tourism site aims to convert climate-and-scenery visitors into winery customers when grocery pink stalls.

Provence already sells a postcard. Now it wants the postcard to buy a bottle.

In a March drinks business interview, CIVP managing director Brice Eymard listed wine tourism among strategic goals. The region launched a tourism-focused website to help visitors find wineries, events and experiences. Jeany Cronk of Maison Mirabeau put it simply: experience makes people remember the winery. Many travelers come for climate and scenery; the job is to convert them into wine consumers when supermarket pale pink feels crowded and interchangeable.

Mini-lesson: experience-led growth means the visit is the marketing. A good tasting room can beat another lookalike bottle on a shelf when color alone no longer proves origin.

For young drinkers, a Provence trip that ends in a deliberate bottle is the opposite of grabbing a random can — place becomes the reason to pour.

Pattern: CIVP tourism site, experience first, convert scenery into sales. Hospitality is the new aisle. That consumer cue is simple: open the bottle when the night has a reason, not when the fridge only has cold sugar.
