Penfolds opens its largest boutique at Sydney Airport T1

A remodeled 44.6 m² permanent shop-in-shop with Heinemann Oceania debuts Penfolds’ first global concept design — red-cap cues, four-country zones and City Explorer Packs for 13 destinations. Two of twenty Bin 389 Troye Sivan 1.5 L bottles land in Sydney.

Travel retail just got a bigger red-cap room before you board.

The Whiskey Wash reports that Penfolds has unveiled a remodeled permanent boutique at Sydney Airport’s T1 international terminal with Heinemann Oceania. At 44.6 square metres it is the house’s largest boutique worldwide and the first rollout of a global concept design that borrows from the brand’s red bottle cap — layered reds, clearer navigation, a rotating feature zone for launches and gifting.

Mini-concept: origin zoning in travel retail. Instead of one anonymous wall of SKUs, the shop maps Penfolds’ four countries of origin so a traveler can walk a mental map before choosing Grange, Bins, Holiday or Chinese New Year releases. City Explorer Packs — premium duo gift boxes tuned to 13 destinations — turn “last bottle before the gate” into a place-coded souvenir.

Limited heat: only twenty Bin 389 Designed by Troye Sivan 1.5 L magnums exist globally; two are allocated to Heinemann Oceania for Sydney. Ambassadors can host tastings in-store; gift-wrap is built in.

For millennials and Gen Z in transit, the choice is intentional: a designed travel-retail pour or gift pack versus another duty-free spirit default.

Remember: Sydney T1 = largest Penfolds boutique (44.6 m²); first global red-cap concept; 2 of 20 Troye Sivan Bin 389 1.5 L for Heinemann Sydney.
