Avgustiada 2026: 30 Bulgarian wineries + Moldova on Augusta Traiana street
The XIV wine-and-heritage festival fills Stara Zagora’s Antique Street “Augusta Traiana” on 25–27 September. Thirty Bulgarian cellars host Moldovan guests; Saturday brings a Moldova wines masterclass, Sunday public-vote awards, plus parade and Queen Avgustiada.
Roman stone, modern pours — Stara Zagora opens the street again.
Стара Загора 24 reports that Avgustiada 2026, the XIV festival of wine and cultural heritage, runs 25–27 September on Антична улица „Августа Траяна“. Thirty Bulgarian wineries take the floor; Moldovan producers join as guests. The mix is deliberate: wine, food, a smart-tech conference, evening parade and the Queen Avgustiada contest.
Saturday’s masterclass is titled „Вина от Молдова“ — a one-hour window to taste across the border without leaving the antique street. Sunday closes with public-vote wine awards: first, second and third place, plus the bottle that earns the Avgustiada mark.
Mini-concept: a street festival is distribution with sandals. When thirty cellars and a neighbouring country share one Roman axis, drinkers meet bottles that never reach the supermarket planogram. Heritage is the stage; the product is still the glass.
Friday opens with a digital smart-tech conference at the Regional History Museum, then a parade of Queen candidates, wineries and city culture houses ending on the antique-street stage.
A can has no antique street. This weekend does — and Moldova pours beside Bulgaria.
Remember: 25–27 Sep, XIV Avgustiada, 30 BG wineries + Moldova; Sat Moldova masterclass; Sun public-vote awards on Augusta Traiana.
