Grand Tokaj 2013 6-puttonyos Aszú named Writers’ Camp Wine 2026

Tokaj Land reports the first Tokaji Writers’ Camp wine competition crowned Grand Tokaj’s 2013 6-puttonyos Aszú as official retreat wine. Literature meets botrytis in a 39-sample field.

Writers’ retreats usually pick a house wine by habit. Tokaj just made it a judged title.

Tokaj Land covers the first Tokaji Writers’ Camp wine competition — a new tradition for a camp founded in 1972. Thirty-nine Tokaj-Hegyalja bottles entered three categories. From the category winners, Grand Tokaj Zrt.’s 2013 6-puttonyos Aszú took the overall ‘Tokaji Writers’ Camp Wine 2026’ title after scoring 94.7 in the sweet late-harvest and Aszú group. Results land at the 54th camp on 12 August.

Mini-concept: puttonyos is a sweetness-and-concentration ladder for Aszú. Six puttonyos signals a rich, long-lived sweet wine built from botrytised berries. Pairing that glass with a writers’ camp is culture marketing with a technical spine — not only a romantic label.

For young drinkers who think sweet wine means a syrupy can, this is the intentional counter-example. Choose a dated 6-puttonyos when the evening is about slow pages and slower sips. Literature and Aszú share patience.

Keep the pattern: 39 wines, three categories, Grand Tokaj 2013 6-puttonyos as camp wine. Sweet Tokaj earns the desk beside the manuscript.

Keep the pattern: a place, a number, and a reason to open the bottle.
