They didn't buy another cellar. They bought the delivery app

Cosulich-backed Compagnia del Gusto adds Winelivery after Romagnoli and UK’s Jascots. ~1.7 million downloads, 400,000+ customers. Nicoletto: data and CRM for the whole F&B group.

They didn't buy another cellar. They bought the app that already knows who opens the door.

WineNews, 1 September: Compagnia del Gusto Holding, Cosulich family, confirmed the acquisition of Winelivery. It follows Cantine Romagnoli in the Colli Piacentini and Jascots Wine Merchants in the UK. Winelivery goes into Compagnia delle Vigne, the wine unit. The point, they say, is the stack under the bottles.

Founded in 2017 by Francesco Magro, Giovanni Roberto and Andrea Antinori, Winelivery is phygital: a proprietary digital platform, delivery of wine, beer and spirits, a network of Bar & Enoteca, and Wedia for digital marketing, data and AI for food and drink. About 1.7 million downloads. More than 400,000 customers.

President Sergio Albarelli: this deal is different. Not only scale. Competences, technology, data, a direct line to the urban consumer. CEO Ettore Nicoletto: strengthen the end customer, value the data, pull digital skills into every activity in the group.

Magro: ten years ago it was an idea. Now it opens a new chapter inside an industrial F&B ecosystem that wants brands to keep their identity while sharing tools.

Mini-concept: a delivery app is not a shop. It is a CRM with corkscrews.

A flavoured can never needed 400,000 customer files. This platform does — and that is what Cosulich just bought.

Remember: 1.7 million downloads, and the holding says the asset is data, not just bottles.
