Hwaseong Songsan grape festival draws over 120,000 visitors
The 12th Hwaseong Songsan Grape Festival (5–6 Sep) filled Eco Farm Theme Park and Dongtan Lake Park under the theme “Journey of a Single Cluster,” with stomping, harvest experiences and farm direct-sales. Mayor Jung Myunggeun and Governor Choo Mi-ae opened the weekend.
A table-grape city turned a weekend into a farm-to-hand crowd.
The Asia Business Daily reports that more than 120,000 people visited the 12th Hwaseong Songsan Grape Festival on 5–6 September 2026 across Hwaseong Eco Farm Theme Park, Dongtan Lake Park and other sites in Gyeonggi. The theme — “Journey of a Single Cluster” — pushed past looking and buying into stomping, harvest walks, life-cycle exhibits and variety tastings, with family games and a direct-sales market locked to quality pledges from local growers.
Mini-concept: festival as distribution channel. Direct sales under shared standards turn a weekend crowd into cash flow for farmers who faced heat-wave stress — branding Songsan grapes while teaching how a cluster travels from vine to table.
Mayor Jung Myunggeun and Gyeonggi Governor Choo Mi-ae attended the opening; the mayor framed the event as taste, purchase and agricultural value in one pass.
For millennials and Gen Z, a festival cluster in hand competes with convenience snacks and canned drinks — fruit you can see, stomp and take home.
