Tim Atkin's 14th SA report unlocked at 9am. The rooms were already sold out

More than 200 wines scored 95+. Cape Town last night at Norval, sold out. Winelands today at Vergelegen. Johannesburg Thursday, also sold out. The report is £20. Wine of the Year names sit in the paid PDF.

Tim Atkin's 14th South Africa report landed in inboxes this morning at 09:00, £20.

The public pages do not name Wine of the Year. Those sit in the paid PDF. What they do name is the walk-around: more than 200 of the country's wines scored 95+ in the 2026 report.

Cape Town was last night at Norval Foundation, Tokai, sold out. The Winelands tasting is today, 16:00 to 20:00, at Vergelegen. Johannesburg is Thursday 3 September at Strauss & Co, Houghton, also sold out. Tickets R950, including a Gabriel-Glas to take home.

Brice & Burnett, Private Clients by Old Mutual, Strauss & Co. Atkin is a Master of Wine. He has been writing the Cape this way for fourteen years. Pre-order closed 31 August so the site wouldn't crash on release morning.

Mini-concept: a score report is a list. A sold-out room is the market saying the list still matters.

A flavoured can has no 95 points. These 200 bottles are the Cape's expensive night out.

Remember: 200+ wines at 95+, and the report unlocked at 9am for £20.
