Treasures of the East: Craiova 2–4 Oct opens to BG/MD wines

BTA reports Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova launching a joint “Treasures of the East” push in Craiova on 2–4 October. Vinul.ro Awards open to Bulgarian and Moldovan wines for a cross-Danube forum reaching ~5 million people.

Three neighbours, one motto. On 29 July 2026 BTA quoted Vinul.ro organisers on a large joint presentation under “Treasures of the East,” staged in Craiova, southwestern Romania, from 2 to 4 October.

For the first time the Vinul.ro Awards of Excellence open to Bulgarian and Moldovan wines; winners feed an international selection pushed in Romania and wider Europe. The programme adds a Bulgarian–Romanian business forum, market-entry talks, franchise ideas and meetings with tour operators, media and influencers. Organisers pitch access to one of the region’s strongest wine-consuming markets and a catchment of about five million people on both Danube banks — with no customs wall between Bulgaria and Romania.

Mini-concept: cross-border promotion multiplies shelf odds. Shared awards and a single city weekend beat three lonely national stands.

Choice: follow Treasures tasting lists instead of anonymous party cans. EE wines earning joint medals are intentional regional drinking.

Pattern: 2–4 Oct Craiova, BG+RO+MD, awards opened. Danube business theatre.

Keep the pattern in mind: a place, a number, and a reason to open the bottle. That is how wine stays a choice on a thinner calendar — not background noise, not a random can.
