Italy’s wine CMO can fund the vineyard visit, not just the bottle abroad
Decree 483420 lets collective bodies claim up to 50% for wine tourism in the region of production, from the 2026/27 campaign. A single estate cannot file alone. First deadline: 15 December 2026. Regions decide whether to open the line.
Italy can now spend wine-CMO money on the visit, not only on the bottle abroad.
Decree 483420, from the agriculture ministry on 18 September 2026, funds wine tourism where the wine is made, from the 2026/27 campaign. Until now the wine CMO paid to push bottles on markets. This is the first time the visit itself is funded beside that.
Only collective bodies may apply — producer organisations, interbranch bodies, consorzi di tutela and other groups. A single estate cannot file alone. It can join a project, which must list the firms, vineyards, cellars and wines. Each region decides whether to switch the measure on.
An AGEA circular will finish the action list. Already named: vineyard outings, cellar visits, tastings and events in the production zone. On request, AGEA may add maps of vineyards open to visitors and registers of events.
The ceiling is 50% of eligible cost. The usual deadline is 30 October; this first year it is 15 December 2026. The cash comes from the national CAP wine plan. Veneto, says Confagricoltura, still has to choose — and only if money remains. AGEA is to open the filing system at least 60 days before that deadline.
Mini-concept: a subsidy for a path through the rows is not a subsidy for a foreign shelf. It pays to bring the drinker to the vineyard.
Keep: a canned spritz never needed a map of visitable vineyards. This line does — ask whether your region actually switched it on.
Remember: decree 483420 (18 Sep 2026); campaign 2026/27; collective applicants only; up to 50%; first deadline 15 Dec 2026, then 30 Oct; regions decide whether to open it.
