Corporate alcohol books tell category weather better than slogans.
Lotte Chilsung's wine sales reached KRW 38.9 billion (~US$28 million) in H1 2026, up 2.8%, Vino Joy News reported. Wine accelerated +8.8% in Q2 after −2.3% in Q1 — trailing only RTDs for pace among alcohol lines. Broader Korea wine imports were cited at +1.71% value to US$214.8 million in H1 even as volumes fell, a stabilisation after correction.
The portfolio mix matters. Domestic Majuang still carries the aisle. Imports such as Yellow Tail, Pommery and Louis M. Martini, plus refreshed Chilean L Wine branding, fill different moods and price steps.
Mini-concept: wine can grow beside RTDs without copying them. RTDs set the pace on no-plan nights. Wine holds when brands offer clear choices for meals, gifts, and small celebrations — intentional moments on a thinner calendar.
Keep the beat: modest value growth, mix management, and a home brand that still anchors the shelf. That is how wine stays in the trolley next to louder, easier drinks.
If you take one habit from this book: choose wine when the night has a reason, and let RTDs keep the empty evenings.
