Moldova’s export map keeps widening. The vines underneath that map are ageing.
IPN’s 2026 briefing relays ONVV voice Iamandi: Moldovan wine now reaches roughly seventy countries, with production and export figures running above five- and ten-year averages — even when some stats lean on the previous calendar year published into 2026. The celebration comes with a sober ask. Replanting and vineyard renewal are the next bottleneck if the country wants those shelves to stay full with competitive fruit.
Mini-concept: market access without vine renewal is a short party. New countries buy bottles today. Old parcels yield less tomorrow. Industry strategy that only counts destinations forgets that quality starts as healthy plantings, not as a logo on a trade-fair stand.
For intentional drinkers, seventy countries is a discovery invitation. Choose Moldovan labelled wine over a nameless can and you fund a small country’s export climb — preferably from estates already investing in young vines, not only in stickers.
Hold the pattern: ~70 countries, above-average exports, replanting as the named next constraint. Moldova’s success story needs new roots.
Keep the pattern: a place, a number, and a reason to open the bottle.
